On one hand it is awesome that our delegation to Annapolis is having another meeting to discuss local bills…it sucks that the the meeting is in Annapolis (not our county) and when the vast majority of folks in Howard County work (9:00am).
I have no question that some people will attend…but what is the purpose of this meeting? Is it to say we had one? How many people will (or even can) attend this meeting.
My hope is that our delegation does better in the future for the residents of our county. We should have a very open dialog with those that we elect to go to Annapolis to represent us…especially when the general session is going on. Many of us have things to discuss with those we elect after seeing the bills that may go forward or not.
They should not disappear from our county during session but have local meetings and invite everyone. That is what I hope to see more of in the future.
One can dream.
