NEWS RELEASE: Police continue search to locate missing Ellicott City man
Howard County police are renewing their plea for help from the public in locating Jason Blake Mabee, 44, who was last seen around 3 a.m. on July 22 in the area of College Avenue in Ellicott City.
Mabee’s family filed a missing person report the morning of July 23 and is concerned for his welfare due to recent health issues. Since then, police have checked local hospitals and shelters; areas near where he was last seen and near his residence in the Chatham area of Ellicott City; and local parks and other locations he is known to frequent.
During the investigation, police learned that Mabee was possibly in the area of Red Branch Road and Route 108 the night of July 23. Officers made extensive area checks there but were unable to locate him.
Mabee does not have his wallet or cell phone with him and police have confirmed that he has not contacted family or friends. He is an avid athlete who may have the ability to survive outdoors for an extended period of time. Police do not believe that he has traveled out of the area.
Mabee is described as a white male, 6’1”, 200 pounds, with a shaved head and facial hair. He was last seen wearing black athletic shorts, a gray t-shirt, and black socks with no shoes.
