Howard County Police Department is promoting National Night Out on August 6th. Here is information they recently published on Facebook:

REGISTER TODAY! National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live. National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while fostering a true sense of community.

Details for the kick-off event will be announced shortly. Residents are encouraged to host or attend a party in their neighborhood. Register a party online:…/Poli…/NNO-Registration-Form

(Parties registered by Aug. 1 will receive priority for police attendance.)

Contact: Police Department, Community Outreach Division, 410-313-2207,

So if your community is planning an event…be sure to register it soon so that you receive “priority” for the HCPD to attend.

One of the comments on this post is about an event not far from home:

The Ridgely’s Run Community Center is registered and our communities are excited about participating in the National Night Out! Lots of food, fun, music, games and conversation with the citizens in our communities.

An event at Ridgley Run Community Center might be one that I might swing by for a little bit that evening. Sounds like it will be fun. Maybe there will be more on social media about the event…if so…look for it on Scott E’s Blog Facebook page.
