This is a difficult week in for TV as we will lose two great shows…Big Bang Theory and Game of Thrones both come to an end this week.
The final episodes of Big Bang Theory aired on Thursday (May 16th) and the final episode of Game of Thrones will air tonight (May 19th).
The Big Bang Theory is an American television sitcom created by Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady, both of whom served as executive producers on the series, along with Steven Molaro. All three also served as head writers. The show premiered on CBS on September 24, 2007 and concluded on May 16, 2019, having broadcast a total of 280 episodes over 12 seasons.
Game of Thrones is an American fantasy drama television series created by David Benioff and D. B. Weiss for HBO. It is an adaptation of A Song of Ice and Fire, George R. R. Martin’s series of fantasy novels, the first of which is A Game of Thrones. The show is filmed in Belfast and elsewhere in Northern Ireland, Canada, Croatia, Iceland, Malta, Morocco, Scotland, Spain, and the United States. The series premiered on HBO in the United States on April 17, 2011, and will conclude with its eighth season, which premiered on April 14, 2019.
I will seriously miss both of these shows. They are ones that were both on my MUST WATCH LIST every week they were on TV.
Young Sheldon is an OK short term replacement for Big Bang Theory. I do not have a good replacement for Game of Thrones at this point.
