By now you have probably read or heard about the more than 66,000 Maryland residents that are in danger of having their driver’s licenses or identification cards recalled in June if they don’t satisfy document requirements that are part of the federally-mandated REAL ID process.

Still not sure if you need to satisfy this requirement…It is pretty easy to check…click the link below and enter your Maryland drivers license number:

I can say that I still have to do mine…so this morning I scheduled an appointment for May 23rd (that was the earliest appointment I could get). So I will make the deadline…be sure to check your license or you could lose it.

Article update: I got this email today from DMV:

The timing is interesting. The statement of “Failure to present documents to an MDOT MVA branch by the date listed above will result in a cancellation of your Maryland driver’s license or identification card” makes me very happy I have a scheduled appointment for the 23rd of this month.
