I wrote back in February (Howard County Executive Calvin Ball Files Legislation to Repeal Mobile Home Tax) and last night the Howard County Council voted 4 to 1 to pass this legislation.
The one vote against the bill…David Yungmann (District 5). Here is a video of the votes and comments:
I supported this passing this bill but I also understand the remarks made by Council Member Yungmann. While this reduces revenue to the county a little…the overall good it does outweighs that loss in revenue in my opinion.
There was social media mention of the bill:
The @HoCoCouncil passed several important pieces of legislation tonight, including bills to expand protections for scenic roads (CB11), support #HoCoMD’s lawsuit regarding BWI plane noise (CR36), and repeal the mobile home site rental tax (CB8)! pic.twitter.com/15AUy9pdn1

I’m glad to see that the County Council passed the Mobile Home Tax Repeal (CB8-2019) tonight at the Legislative Session. Thank you to the Council members who voted in favor. Together, we can work towards creating opportunities for economic stability for all our neighbors.
