In a surprise announcement (at least to me) on social media Lupa Trattoria Romana In Columbia will be closing their doors today after their final dinner service. Here is what was announced on Facebook:

Here is the text from the post:

After 5 years, we will be closing our Columbia location Saturday, March 2nd. We will be closed for brunch and our final service will be at dinner tomorrow. Look out for your favorite staff at our Baltimore restaurants! Thank you for your patronage, Howard County. #foremanwolf

It was just recently that Lupa mentioned that they were “among the 50 Best Restaurants in the March issue of Baltimore magazine“.

Lupa was a favorite location of Elevate Maryland to broadcast and record their shows…and they are now looking for a new location to broadcast from…if you have suggestions…let them know.

Wonder which business will try their luck in that location next?

  1. Oh no! Lupa was quickly becoming our favorite place, mainly because of Elevate Maryland. Their pizzas are great. Hopefully another “long lasting” business will occupy that space!

    • Lupa? LOL!. They should have called it Lipo since their clientele was the see-and-be-seen trophy wife crowd and their annoyingly manscaped “hubbies.”

For a good Italian meal, go to one of the Trattotias in Dorsey’s Search or King’s Contrivance. They’re neighborhood joints owned by Italian who make the food with family recipes, as opposed to the latest trendy vegan gruel. Shed no tears for Lupo. I’m sure the Botox contingent will find another place with insufferable waiters and bland, overpriced dishes.
