I was able to make it out to the most recent Howard County Police Department “Coffee with a Cop” session in Columbia MD. Here is a little information about that session yesterday from social media:
TODAY! Join HCPD’s Community Outreach Officers for Coffee with a Cop from 9-11 a.m. at Roggenart Bakery in Columbia.
The Coffee with a Cop program offers the community an opportunity to meet face-to-face with police personnel in a neutral environment to ask questions, voice concerns and get to know officers. As always, coffee and conversation are on the house!
Roggenart Bakery, 6474 Dobbin Center Way, Columbia / Feb. 7, 9 – 11 a.m. / Contact: Police Department, Community Outreach Division, 410-313-2207
It was a great session and I highly recommend it if you have questions you want to ask a police officer in our county. The photo I took (above) was early on and I would say at least another three or four additional police officers attended the session. Here are a few other photos I was able to get yesterday morning:
I was able to ask some questions I had on my mind:
- Vehicle break-ins around the county
- What makes it on to the HCPD Daily Crime Bulletin on social media and what is omitted
- Questions concerning ongoing efforts with underage sales testing at local establishments
- And a few other questions on my mind
This was my first visit to Roggenart Bakery…they have EXCELLENT coffee and a great selection of pastries. Go check it out when you have some time.
I hope to attend additional sessions in the future (they hold these once per month around the county) when they are in my area.
