The Howard County Police Department recently conducted underage sales testing at local establishments earlier this week and posted the results on social media…here is what they wrote:

Re-post from Instagram (www.instagram.com/hocopolice): HCPD’s Alcoholic Beverage Inspector, with the help of a few young cadets, conducted underage sales testing at local establishments earlier this week.
Out of eight businesses tested, four failed: Main Event, Kings Contrivance Liquor & Smoke Shop, Second Chance Saloon, One Shot Liquors. Increased enforcement will continue throughout the holiday season, to include added patrols on roadways and details aimed at underage drinking and sales.
Pictured: An 18-year-old cadet was served alcohol at Columbia’s Main Event. He was not asked for ID.
So four out of eight businesses tested failed…that is not good. I don’t know all of these businesses…but Second Chance Saloon on the failed list surprised me a bit. Here is the location for each business in Howard County:
- Main Event (Columbia)
- Kings Contrivance Liquor & Smoke Shop (Columbia)
- Second Chance Saloon (Columbia)
- One Shot Liquors (Ellicott City)
Business in Howard County that sale alcohol…mind this statement from above “Increased enforcement will continue throughout the holiday season”…so I am expected more of these types of posts from HCPD in the future. Hopefully they will report out the good results with the bad in future online reports.
