Jon Weinstein remains active in our community…and this is a great opportunity to go out and see him and support a great cause all at the same time.
Jon posted the following public message on Facebook:
Now that I’ve sold my business and completed my term on the Council, please join me as I trying out a gig at the Phoenix Emporium. Come out Wednesday, 12/12 from 6p-8p for a great cause, Voices for Children, and to give me a hard time while I tend bar during an extended Happy Hour. Thank you, Mark Hemmis for the try-out!
Don’t be a Grinch, so come out have fun, enjoy a beverage and some food and help raise funds and awareness for Voice for Children.
Here is information about the event from Phoenix Emporium (via Facebook):
Former District 1 Council Member and current Man-Around-Town Jon Weinstein will be guest bartending at the Phoenix Emporium on Wednesday, December 12th from 6:00 – 8:00 PM.
Still eager to serve his community, Jon will trade his dark suit and council staff for a serving tray and bottle opener. Happy Hour pricing throughout the restaurant until 8:00.
20% of all sales and 100% of your tips will be donated to Voices For Children Howard County. Voices For Children provides trained volunteers, Court Appointed Special Advocates, to abused and neglected children in Howard County, who advocate in court to ensure each child a safe and permanent home.
Let’s share some drinks with Jon and raise some money for a great cause.

I look forward to catching up with Jon at this event to see how he does behind the bar…and provide some support for the cause.
I hope you make it out as well.
