Notes:

Hester has the most money on hand in the final days of this campaign…my hope is that she spends it well…and not on more negative mailers like I have reported in the past. I am a fan of Katie Hester…so I have high expectations of the campaign. I will be interested if folks in her party have an issue with the PAC (and other) money coming into the campaign….and similarly if the GOP has issues with the PAC money listed in the Bates campaign. I had a great conversation with Gail Bates yesterday at Miller Library and while I have disagreed with her on certain issues (specifically the HoCoBOE elections bill in 2017) I have great respect for her and what she does for our community.

Notes:

Flanagan has the most money on hand going down the stretch of this campaign. The most interesting thing I saw on the reports was the $24,000 Watson received from the House Democratic Caucus Committee…she has to love that entity. One the other side…Flanagan got $6,000 from MBRG Maryland Job Growth PAC…so he has to like them as well. Does anyone have an issue with either candidate taking money from where they get it from? Me…no…but others find this type of in-coming funds concerning. I can’t wait to here what people say about it. Plus there is other stuff on all of the reports (be sure to give them a look)…who will say what in the final days of this campaign…I am looking forward to it.

What I am not looking forward to is more negative mailers from outside entities in this race. It has gotten out of hand and unless we say stop…it will not end. I highly recommend you go to the candidates and tell THEM to talk to those entities and make this stuff stop….and if they refuse…then do not give them your vote. The only way this will end is if we take a stand and do not let it continue. I know some disagree with me on this issue…and that is fine…but for those that agree…make a stand now…it will pay off in the future.
