Maryland police back Wolf over Frosh in AG race

Annapolis, MD (August 23, 2018) — On Thursday, Craig Wolf’s campaign for Attorney General announced that he had received the endorsement of Maryland’s Fraternal Order of Police.

“I am honored and humbled to have received the endorsement of the Maryland Fraternal Order of Police, an organization of more than 21,000 dedicated law enforcement professionals who put their lives on the line every day to protect the citizens of our state,” Wolf said.

The FOP endorsed Attorney General Brian Frosh in 2014, and Wolf says this switch signifies that Maryland law enforcement is hungry for leadership that focuses on public safety, not politics and partisanship.

“No sitting Attorney General — assuming he does his job — should lose the support of law enforcement in his first term. But that’s the problem — Brian Frosh is focused on partisan politics in Washington, when he should be focused on the public safety issues right here in our state,” Wolf said.

“The men and women of law enforcement are on the front lines every day fighting to keep our communities safe, and they want to know that their Attorney General is right there with them,” Wolf concluded.

Four years ago, Brian Frosh proudly claimed that he was endorsed by law enforcement. That is no longer the case. Wolf has received endorsements from 19 of Maryland’s 24 Sheriffs — both Republicans and Democrats, most of Maryland’s States’ Attorneys, and now the largest police union in the state….

Is this a big deal…heck yeah it is…for a number of reasons. The biggest being is that the FOP supporting an Attorney General of Maryland candidate over the one serving the people right now.

This is absolutely a race I am watching…and you should as well…just saying….we have a candidate from Howard County folks…so pay attention and learn more about both candidates. Support who you are going to support…but my advice is to watch this race play out….because it may be more interesting than you think it will.
