Ellicott City’s Main Street reopened to two-way traffic west of Old Columbia Pike and east of Maryland Avenue

Some good news concerning Main Street in Ellicott City…this is taken from County Executive Allan Kittleman’s Facebook page:

This morning, Ellicott City’s Main Street was reopened to two-way traffic west of Old Columbia Pike and east of Maryland Avenue. Vehicles traveling west on Frederick Road from Baltimore County can now cross the Patapsco River Bridge and turn left onto Maryland Avenue to access St. Paul Street and College Avenue. New Cut Road will remain closed to thru traffic because of flood damage. Jon Weinstein – Howard County Council joined me on a visit this morning to get a recovery update from some of the business owners. Much has been accomplished, but there’s still much to be done.

He also published a few photos:

I did have an opportunity to be in that area today as I had lunch at Manor Hill Tavern.

While it will be a while before Main Street is back to normal…it is nice to see things progress forward.
