I wanted to share a few photos from the forum sponsored by The African American Coalition of Howard County (AACHC) and Columbia (MD) Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
Some of these photos were taken by me and some I have taken from other sources (African American Coalition of Howard County Twitter account and Rich Gibson Facebook page):
Howard County Board of Education Candidates: 11 of the 13 candidates attended.

Candidate for Governor in Maryland: Krish and Ben Jealous were the only two major Gov candidates to attend.

Candidates for Governor an Lt. Governor in Maryland: Four Lt. Gov candidates attended the meeting.

Candidates for Howard County Executive: Harry Dunbar represented by his son and Calvin Ball.

Candidates for Howard County Council (Districts 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5): All candidates running in D2 and D3 attended…missing one from D1, one from D4 and two from D5.

Candidates for Attorney General: Frosh and Wolf

Candidates running for US Congress (D2, D3 and D7):

Candidate for Comptroller: Anjali Reed Phukan

Candidates running for State Senate (D9, D12 and D13) and State Delegate (D9A, D9B, D12 and D13): a lot of candidates on the stage but missing some due to the General Assembly still in session.

Candidates running for Clerk of Court, Judge of Orphan’s Court and Register of Wills:

Howard County Democratic Central Committee Female candidates: 10 of the 12 candidates on the stage…although I did see at least one other candidate earlier in the day.

Howard County Democratic Central Committee Male candidates: 12 of the 18 candidates on stage. You get two photos as I could not find a good one showing all 12 candidates

I was in and out throughout the day at the forum and very much enjoyed meeting candidates I have not met before and catching up with those I do know. There may be some videos of the candidates speaking and answering questions in the future…If I see them pop up on YouTube, I may share them in a future blog post. If interested in more photos I took during the event, check out this page: https://www.facebook.com/pg/scotteblog/photos/?tab=album&album_id=2031584453776564
I had an opportunity to have a conversation with Krish Vignarajah (candidate for Governor of Maryland) during the forum (which is why I stepped away for a bit and missed out on taking some photos). I was able to ask a number of questions that may be the subject of a future blog post. I really enjoyed the conversation we had and learned a lot about her campaign. If you don’t know much about her yet, I highly recommend that you check out the campaign website and social media channels.

And since I am in a photo sharing mood today…here is a fun throwback photo of a tweet from the Howard County Public School System back in 2015:

It was fun being on the committee to review the HoCoBOE Technology and Social Media Policy…and to my right in the photo is Jen Mallo (2018 candidate for Howard County Board of Education). I have no idea what I was talking about when the photo was taken but four of the five other people in the photo seemed interested in it…LOL.
That is it for today. Happy Sunday!
