The People’s Voice LLC announced two endorsements yesterday on Facebook for Deb Jung (candidate for Howard County Council – District 4) and Vicky Cutroneo (candidate for Howard County Board of Education). Here is the text that goes along with the endorsements:
Deb Jung –

The People’s Voice – Ethics Ballot – Announcement –
Early Endorsement
Howard County Council District 4 – Deb Jung

The People’s Voice is pleased to announce our endorsement of Deb Jung for Howard County Council District 4, to The Ethics Ballot. She has a wide knowledge of the issues facing the Council and experience in the areas of work required of the position. Her positions on matters of great importance to residents show us that she puts community interests over special interests.
Deb is an attorney whose activism spans decades in Howard County. She has worked steadfastly on women’s issues, human rights, health concerns, the arts, and the school system. She has spent most of her professional career working in the nonprofit sector so she knows firsthand the issues faced by many in our County. We look forward to working with Deb on her campaign. Vicky Cutroneo:

Howard County Board of Education – Vicky Cutroneo
The People’s Voice is pleased to announce our endorsement of Vicky Cutroneo for Howard County Board of Education to The Ethics Ballot. Vicky has been an extraordinarily effective civic leader for our County. Her discovery of mold problems in the Howard County Public School System helped to lead a countywide effort to bring more transparency and accountability in health issues for our students. She was also instrumental in shedding light on Public Information Act issues with the School System, participating on committees to improve School System policies, and gathering data to assist with addressing the achievement gap and suspension disparities.

Vicky was elected as President of the Howard County PTA Council, and continued her advocacy for the HCPSS after her 2016 Board of Education campaign, where she succeeded past the primary. With no current incumbents running this year, and the remaining Board Members all new since 2016, Vicky will help retain an institutional knowledge base on the Board. We look forward to working with Vicky on her campaign. For more information, see her website at www.Vicky4BOE.com.#hocopolitics#hocoboe#ethicsballot

It is endorsement season and these two candidates should be happy with this (and any) endorsements for their campaigns.
I had Lisa Markovitz on Scott E’s Blog Talk Radio Show back in 2016 to talk about endorsements…I may reach out again before the Primary or during the General to have her on the show again…so you can hear why the group selected these candidates over others.
