This evening James Howard announced his intention to run for Delegate in District 12 on Facebook:
I am happy to announce that I am running for delegate in District 12. We are at a turning point, with critical issues facing us locally and across Maryland, ranging from public safety to climate change to our education system. In the coming days, I look forward to sharing information about my platform and speaking to community members about a range of issues important to Howard and Baltimore Counties. I have been involved in community service at multiple levels, volunteering and working for the people of Long Reach, Columbia, and Howard County to ensure we get things done effectively and responsibly. I am excited to bring that experience and ability to represent District 12 in Annapolis.
Clarence Lam is leaving his seat in District 12 to run for Senate in District 12…and we now have 3 Democrats that are running (Ebersole and Hill running for re-election and now Howard) and we also have 3 Republicans that have filed to run in that district (Cockey, Harris and Russell). As of this post, I have heard of another candidate or two getting in to this race and I am waiting to write about it if/once it becomes official that they are running.. 6 days until the filing deadline…it is getting exciting.
I will be adding James Howard to the Technology Outreach Reference Card later tonight / first thing tomorrow morning.
Stay tuned as I get more information I will be sure to share on the blog.
