As I expected, Delegate Clarance Lam will seek the Maryland Senate District 12 seat to be vacated by Kasemeyer retiring….#CalledIt. The photo above was take just minutes ago from Delegate Ebersole’s Facebook page:
After careful and deliberate consideration, Delegates Eric Ebersole, Terri Hill and Clarence Lam have reached their decision for filling the vacancy created by the recently announced decision of Senator Edward Kasemeyer to retire at the end of this term. Lam will run for the State Senate seat, and Ebersole and Hill will seek re-election to the House of Delegates. To complete the slate, they are looking to find an individual who will be an effective legislator and asset to the team.
“District 12 has a long legacy of strong representation. It deserves nothing less going forward,” said the delegates. “We believe that our ability to work collaboratively has been an asset to our district, and our complementary strengths and skills over the past four years have made for a well-balanced team. We are pleased to have the opportunity to continue serving together for another term.
The big questions now is…who will join (or run against) Team 12? I have heard a couple of names floating around out there…but noting confirmed yet. Only 14 more days to go until the filing so we will know something soon.
