The final summary post about campaign finance number for candidates from Howard County. This one will show the various candidates running for Delegate in 2018 (or at least the ones we know of right now). Off to the numbers we go….
|Maryland State Delegate||Starting Balance||Amount Raised||Amount Spent||Cash Balance|
|Warren Miller (R)||28,932.34||27,040.00||12,166.54||43,805.80|
|Trent Kittleman (R)||4,608.32||16,043.09||17,157.17||3,494.24|
|Natalie Ziegler (D)||0.00||15,232.35||5,663.54||9,568.81|
Comments: No shocker that Miller leads the pack of all candidates in this race. He raised some decent money and has a nice money lead of these three candidates. The Kittleman spend rate seems high and that leaves her with little money on hand at this point. Ziegler could make this race interesting if she continues to raise funds.
|District 9B||Starting Balance||Amount Raised||Amount Spent||Cash Balance|
|Bob Flanagan (R)||17,768.59||50,717.00||9,799.36||58,686.23|
|Dan Medinger (D)||0.00||166,175.00||10,731.29||155,443.71|
|Courtney Watson (D)||1,894.60||55,678.00||16,278.13||41,294.47|
|District 12||Starting Balance||Amount Raised||Amount Spent||Cash Balance|
|Michael Russell (R)||n/a||n/a||n/a||n/a|
|Eric Ebersole (D)||28,769.02||29,230.00||12,336.21||45,662.81|
|Terri Hill (D)||18,052.60||53,678.14||11,851.93||59,878.81|
|Clarence Lam (D)||51,359.01||36,305.00||5,079.08||82,584.93|
Comments: Based on money…Team 12 looks safe. Russell filed Affidavit of Limited Contributions and Expenditures and that is why it shows n/a above.
|District 13||Starting Balance||Amount Raised||Amount Spent||Cash Balance|
|Vanessa Atterbeary (D)||21,115.13||24,655.00||11,049.25||34,720.88|
|Shane Pendergrass (D)||130,230.02||61,412.00||25,235.57||166,406.45|
|Larry Pretlow II (D)||n/a||n/a||n/a||n/a|
|Jen Terrasa (D)||29,606.43||1,020.00||4,891.96||25,734.47|
Comments: Frank Turner not running with Team 13 has already shook up this race. Terrasa just entered this race (with the endorsement of Turner) and I expect her fundraising to jump up significantly in future reports. Pendergrass continues to bring in significant money and has the most cash on hand of any candidate running for delegate from Howard County. Pretlow filed Affidavit of Limited Contributions and Expenditures and that is why it shows n/a above. The real question here is will Janet Siddiqui enter this race. If she does, that could really shake up Team 13 this election cycle. As someone that lives in this district…this is a race I will pay close attention to from here on out….it should be fun!!!
Final comments: I did not comment of District 9B. My business has done some work for a business of a candidate in that district. Although I have not done any direct work for that campaign, I still felt it was necessary not to comment on that race as some would see it as biased…I will let the numbers speak for the candidates and let other reporters and bloggers dig through the numbers and make comments.
For those not familiar with Affidavit of Limited Contributions and Expenditures, it states: “Pursuant to §13-305 of the Election Law Article, Annotated Code of Maryland, we, the undersigned Chairman and Treasurer, hereby declare that we do not intend to receive contributions or make expenditures in the cumulative amount of $1,000 or more”
I think District 9B and District 13 will be the ones to watch this election cycle…of course candidates have until late February to file to run so anything can happen.
