Campaign Finance Numbers – Howard County Executive Candidates – January 2018

Before I get yelled at…I know I left Harry Dunbar off the photo above…I made the cutoff that a candidate has to have at least $100,000 to make the header photo for this race…ok, now let’s move on…the numbers are in for the Howard County Executive race…here they are:

Candidate Starting Balance Amount Raised Amount Spent Cash Balance
Howard County Executive
Allan Kittleman (R) 725,258.78 422,359.78 322,066.53 825,552.03
Calvin Ball (D) 88,684.40 228,196.43 70,796.92 246,083.91
Harry Dunbar (D) 0.00 2,750.00 0.00 2,750.00

Comments:

  • Kittleman raised the most money and by far has the most cash on hand at this point.
  • Ball should be happy with his numbers. I think they are strong and show good early support for his campaign.
  • Kittleman spend rate is pretty high…but he does not have a primary opponent so maybe that will scale back a bit between now and late June.
  • Dunbar needs to start raising some funds if he is going to make a splash at all in the primary.

I am not expecting any other “serious” candidates to get into this race…so watching all aspects of this race (money, polling, social media outreach, etc…) will be the key from here on out.

Here are the reports if interesting in viewing the details:

Allan

Calvin

Have a great day.
