Notes:

  • Numbers on Saturday (day 3) were down from the first two days. Worry not, the numbers were down all over the state.
  • Miller Library remains the top voting location (so all candidates should have a presence at that location)
  • Early voting by party: (% is of registered voters)
    • Dem – 14,725 (14.33%)
    • Rep – 4,649 (8.16%)
    • Ind – 3,631 (8.24%)
    • Other – 280
  • Early voting by Council District: (% is of registered voters)
    • District 1 – 5,056 (12.06%)
    • District 2 – 4,355 (10.86%)
    • District 3 – 4,009 (10.31%)
    • District 4 – 5,494 (13.38%)
    • District 5 – 4,371 (9.66%)
  • In Howard County, 11.24% of all registered voters have cast votes. Here are some other counties as comparisons:
    • Statewide – 8.36%
    • Montgomery – 9.24%
    • Anne Arundel – 6.91%
    • Baltimore City – 6.13%
    • Baltimore County – 8.16%
    • Prince George’s – 9.91%
    • Carroll – 5.92%
    • Frederick – 7.34%

As mentioned above, total votes cast fell off significantly statewide (day 1 – 122,880, day 2 – 123,020, day 3 – 80,283). On the upside, Howard had 6,142 votes cast on Saturday which represent 2.96% of all eligible voters which was the highest percentage in the state on day 3. If I were to guess, I would expect the numbers to remain lower today as well and the numbers to pick back up on Monday.

Three counties are outperforming Howard in percentage of eligible votes cast: Talbot (15.62%), Queen Anne’s (12.44%) and Kent (12.34%).

Democrats in Howard County are really coming out to vote (more than 14% have already voted through 3 days) but the shocker is that Republican voters are being outpaced (in percentage of eligiable voters) by Independant voters.
