The Titans and Ravens both took to the field last night (only one hour apart). My favorite part was that BOTH games were on local TV. Obviously all the Ravens games are on local TV but I have to say it was really nice to see the Titans on last night. How did they do? Here you go…
Baltimore Ravens (3-0)
The Ravens crushed the Lions 30 – 9 keeping their pre-season undefeated streak alive. We got our first look at Joe Flacco this season. He did well going 11-16 for 94 yards (o TD, 0 INTS). I wished Joe would have been on the field for a a bit longer, but Ravens players were getting hurt and I am sure the Ravens didn’t want a Romo type event happen to Flacco. Terrence West was the top RB running 7 times for 43 yards. Jeremy Butler was the top WR with 4 catches, 43 yards and a TD (thrown to him from Mallett). We had another Campanaro (River Hill High School) sighting last night as he caught one pass for 11 yards and returned one punt for 15 yards. We even got to see Reynolds (ex-Navy QB) last night return a punt for 12 yards. I really hope both these guys make the team this season.

Tennessee Titans (2-1)
After a bad showing last week against the Panthers, the Titans bounce back and get a win in Oakland 27 to 14. The Titan offense was impressive scoring on all four first half drives (2 TDs and 2 FGs). Mariota was not as sharp as he had been in the first two pre-season games and yet was still impressive going 9-16 for 170 years (0 TDs, 0 INTs). The running game got back on track this week with Murray (8 for 40 yards and a TD) and Henry (12 for 49 and a TD) with nearly 90 yards rushing and 2 TDS. The big receiver this week was Andre Johnson with 3 catches for 65 yards. The biggest catch came from Sharpe (his only catch) with a 60 yard reception. The Titans defense…well, that was just bad. This defense has not figured out how to defend the pass this preseason and if this carries over into the regular season, the Titans could have another long year. The play of the game was the hit Sean Spence put on Washington (RB – Oakland) that caused a fumble and recovered for a Titans TD. Click the image below to watch the clip:

Next week the Ravens and Titans play on Thursday (actually – everyone plays on that day). Titans are playing the Dolphins at 7:00pm and the Ravens take on the Saints at 8:00pm. Week 4 is always the worst preseason games as almost no starters will be on the field…so I am not very excited for those games. I expect that my recap of the games will be very limited.
Have a great Sunday.
