This is not one of the more exciting races in 2016…but still worth keeping an eye on going forward. If you are on Twitter and trying to find out information about this race…well just stop. There is nothing out there (other than these scorecards). So disappointing from the entire group of candidates.

Notes:

  • Harris – Added by far the most new Facebook followers over the past month. Harris remains the only candidate with a Twitter account but he has not posted to it since back in February. Maybe it is time to remove that link from the campaign website. If you are not going to use it, why list it?
  • Werner – added a whopping eight new followers over the past month on Facebook. This probably has something to do with only one Facebook post over the past month. You need to be much more active.
  • Beers – added only five new followers on Facebook over the past month.

I am not reporting the engagement numbers in July. Let’s be honest…this is the slow part of the campaign season and I expect numbers to be lower overall for many candidates. I will start reporting engagement numbers in August and continue updating those numbers through the General Election. In August I will start picking an online outreach leader in each race.

Of course the reality of followers, likes, and subscribers does not mean a lot when it comes down to voting in the end, but it can show trends in a campaign cycle and makes a great resource for following all of the candidates.
