Notes:

  • I am still looking for websites for some candidates above. If you know of any I have missed, let me know and I I will update this page.
  • Many candidates not doing enough to get listed on the scorecard just yet.
  • Facebook – Pena-Melnyk added by far the most new followers (adding over 250 in the past month). Christopher came in a strong second place. Brown again lost more followers than he gained…this is the third consecutive month that has happened to his page.
  • Twitter – Christopher wins in adding the most new followers over the past month and Pena-Melnyk came in a strong second place.
  • (See what I meant above by two candidates stepping up their game…well it was easily Pena Melnyk and Christopher).
  • Always remember to check out the candidates website for additional online outreach (Instagram, LinkedIn and more).

A significant factor in evaluating online outreach is looking at follower engagement. In March, I am focusing my reviews on recent Twitter engagement. Want to know how i get the numbers? READ THIS. Here are the recent Twitter numbers for the candidates:

Anthony Brown

Glenn Ivey

Joseline Pena-Melnyk

Warren Christopher

Notes:

  • Pena-Melnyk had the highest engagement score (retweets and favorites) from the campaigns most recent tweets. Christopher came in a decent second place.
  • Brown and Ivey had only one “original” tweet from their accounts over the past week. Both campaigns really need to step up their online game.

Online Outreach Leader in this race: Joseline Pena-Melnyk. She won on Facebook and had the highest amount of engagement on Twitter. I would say Warren Christopher was the easy my #2 choice, Ivey in 3rd and Brown trailing all of them with online outreach.

Of course the reality of followers, likes, and subscribers does not mean a lot when it comes down to voting in the end, but it can show trends in a campaign cycle and makes a great resource for following all of the candidates.
