Senate 13As we get ever closer to November 4th it will be interesting to see the social media push from the candidates. This is a race I am very interesting in as I live in D13. Interested in the August evaluation of this race? Click Here!

Comments: Guy Guzzone added the most new Twitter followers over the past month. I am still shocked that he continues to link his campaign Twitter page with his personal Facebook page. It seems to be working for him as he continues to add new followers on Twitter each month. I will never be a fan of this practice. You can read more about my concerns in the August evaluation.

Jody Venkatesan added the most new Facebook followers over the past month. He continues to be quite active on both Facebook and Twitter and even on Youtube with some new videos. I would like to see more posts from his Instagram account over the next month.

Now we all know that follower trends is only one part of technology outreach, follower engagement is as (if not more) important. Let’s take a look at engagement numbers on Facebook:

Here is a look at the Facebook activity over the past week of the candidate pages in this race: (Click photo for full size)

Senate 13 Septemeber Facebook Activity
Jody is the only candidate with any activity from the campaign Facebook account so obviously he wins in overall engagement. There is no way for me to accurately review Guy’s personal Facebook page activity.

I would like to pick an outright leader in this race but I just can’t at this point. The poor social media practices by the Guzzone team gives me concerns about their engagement going forward. I really like what the Venkatesan team is doing online but they are not growing their followers at a significant rate yet. So for now, no overall outreach leader.
