Here are my takeaways from the scorecard above:

On Facebook – Nic Kipke added to his already impressive follower lead in this race by adding over 200 new followers. Meagan Simonaire added an impressive number of new followers. Brian Chisholm continues his consistant growth of new followers to his campaign.

Another important factor of social media is engagement (the number of comments, likes and shares). The graphic below shows the engagement over the past week on Facebook. No surprise that Nic Kipke holds a significant advantage over all other candidates. A positive for the Chisholm campaign they were clearly the number two campaign in engagement this past week (with early voting going on right now this is a nice stat to have on your side).

On Twitter – Paul Drgos added a significant number of new followers. This is the second consecutive month they have lead the field on Twitter follower additions. Nic Kipke continues to hold the overall lead on Twitter followers.

On YouTube – Brian Chisholm got a page up and running with six new videos. With no other candidate having any current activity on their channels, this is another nice positive for this team. One recommendation I would make, get the YouTube logo on your website where your other social media icons are listed.

Overall – No change to the top spot, Nic Kipke has numbers that are just significantly better than the rest of the field. He also backed up his numbers with on going engagement on his Facebook page. I was a little torn on the number two position but I am going to continue to call it for Brian Chisholm. The addition of new followers, the new YouTube channel and videos as well as his engagement of followers on Facebook warrants remaining in that position.

One additional interesting piece of information. The results of the Red Maryland June poll for District 31B. Kipke and Chisholm are also in the top two spots:

Red Maryland Poll June 31B Of course the reality of followers, likes, and subscribers does not mean a lot when it comes down to voting in the end, but it is a fun exercise to do and makes a great resource for following all of these candidates.

I hope all of the Dads out there have a wonderful Fathers Day.
