Here are my takeaways from the scorecard above:

George Johnson added the most new Twitter followers over the past month. This campaign continues to show positive signs and the potential to make the General Election interesting.

Laura Neuman continues to hold a significant advantage on Twitter over the other candidates. This team added a significant number of new Facebook followers over the past month. I was a little disappointed in seeing Google+ removed from the campaign page. I was hoping this team would begin using this social media platform for outreach. I will say it is better to remove it rather than list it and not use it.

Steve Schuh added the most new Facebook followers and continues to hold his lead over the other candidates on that platform. I am happy to see continued use of Google+ and Instagram for outreach. On Twitter, this team continues to trail in adding new followers month in and month out. I still hold fast to the belief that linking Facebook and Twitter is a primary reason. Someday maybe this team will unlink those accounts and begin better use of that platform.

As stated last month, the Republican candidates hold a significant technology outreach advantage in this race. I still can’t pick an outright leader between the two candidates. They both have positive and negatives I can point to and that just makes it  impossible for me to land on one overall leader. So I will continue to call it a draw for now…but know whichever candidate makes it through the Primary will immediately hold an outreach lead.

Of course the reality of followers, likes, +1s and subscribers does not mean a lot when it comes down to voting in the end, but it is a fun exercise to do and makes a great resource for following all of these candidates.
