From time to time I will post articles that are not “Technology” related at all…this would be one of those posts.
One more week left in the NFL season. Tomorrow is the Pro Bowl (but seriously does anyone even watch that these days) and then the big game next week between the Broncos and Seahawks. Those that know me know I am pulling BIG for the Broncos. Coming from Tennessee, it is basically a given that I cheer for Peyton in almost any game he is in (unless it is against the Titans).
This year, as in years past, most of our NFL sundays were spent in our favorite local establishment; Nottingham’s Tavern. It is a great place to watch games in Columbia. Every game is on one or more TV’s, many fans of different teams are always in their jerseys and they have my favorite bartenders and waitresses. We had some family visit this year on a couple of weekends which was new a fun. Here are a few photos from this season:

We actually went to one game this year. Thanksgiving evening at M&T Stadium to watch the Ravens get a big win over the Steelers. It was so cold I thought we would all turn into popsicles. The tailgate was a blast and was really glad we made it out to that game.

Shelby and I play in a fantasy football league with family and friends back in Tennessee. Now keep in mind that everyone but Shelby in in their 20’s, 30’s or 40’s…yet it was the teenage girl that was crowned Regular Season Champion. I taught her very well obviously.

I am very proud of how well she did this season at Fantasy Football. But I got to tell you, my Christmas present from her was the best. Some reading materials so that I do a little better next season.

Next week is Superbowl weekend. There are about 30 of us that all travel out to Ocean City, stay at the Quality Inn in the penthouse suite(s) and watch the game together. It is something I have been doing with this crew for many years. It is always a good time. If Peyton Manning and the Broncos win, it will be a REALLY good time this year.
It has been a fun football season and I will be sad to see it come to an end. I always go through withdraws on the first couple of Sundays at the end of the season, but with so many other things going on right now I am sure I will find projects to fill my time.
